"Have you got something to say to me?"

Comment on the previous post that I'll copy to here so people can find it easier.

Along the lines of "too much time on our hands"....I just noticed the "BBS" functionality seems to be gone from randomletters...Hitch, did you intend to make it a more "one-way" medium?...or was the BBS just getting overrun with SPAM that we never saw because you took such good care of the site? Compliment intended.

It was never my intension to completely eliminate the two-way communication function of the BBS. And as you've discovered, you can still post comments here for me (and any other visitors) to read. I welcome your comments.

I'm also flattered that you didn't realize how much of a hassle the SPAM was getting to be in the last months before I switched other to this blog format. Every morning and sometimes again later in the day was devoted to deleting pointless SPAM messages and blacklisting IP addresses. And they just kept coming. This has built in anti-SPAM functions and right now they're set at quite a low level t make it easier for people I want to hear from to post. There are several things I can easily activate to block spammers if it gets to be a problem, but so far I haven't needed them. Let's hope I continue to not need to.

Please, if you've got anything you'd like to say, feel free to post it.

And the trouble starts. Comments will no longer be published until I check in with the site and approve them. This is just to keep out the SPAM. Legitimate posters can still say anything they want.
